Long time presenter of Channel 5 motoring show Fifth Gear, Tiff Needel posted on Twitter this week indicating that the show may not be returning to TV screens for another series.
After some shocked responses from fans, Tiff revealed that the show was struggling to be recommissioned, even though there might be some 'disgruntled Top Gear fans' who could be attracted to a new series of Fifth Gear.
The revelation came the week before the new format Top Gear series with Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc is due to start, on Sunday 29th May.
Tiff Needel has presented Fifth Gear for fifteen years, since 2001, and before that he presented Top Gear for fourteen years.
He tweeted: "After an unbroken run of 29 years presenting either Top Gear or Fifth Gear it feels weird not to have any filming dates in my diary!"
Co-presenter Jonny Smith responded to Tiff's tweets, replying: "You need a new show Tiff. Let's call it The Needell For Speed."
