About Seacott Motor Company, Luton, LU2 0DN
Established in 1978, we are an independent family owned and operated garage based in Luton, Bedfordshire. We pride ourselves in offering a professional, friendly service to our clients, carrying out routine servicing and repairs as well as sophisticated diagnostics, air conditioning repairs and recharging. We are happy to work on all types of vehicles including light commercials.
All our work is carried out to main dealer standards but not at main dealer prices. We offer a fully equipped service bay at our garage with all service and repair work carried out to the highest standards.
We have modern diagnostic equipment that enables us to accurately source electrical problems and allows us to tune your car to its optimal performance, whilst improving fuel economy. Bringing your car to an independent garage will not void your manufacturers warranty in any way and will certainly save you money.

MOT Tests:
When your car is due for its annual MOT Test call Seacott and leave it to us to arrange, we will always try to book the test to best suit our customer. Booking in advance for your MOT is recommended. Should your vehicle fail its MOT, we will always be more than happy to undertake any repairs required.
We offer free quotes and may be able to help with other services not listed above.

"Would not recommend this trader. I was charged £370 to fix my handbrake and fit new brake pads. I was told I didn’t need a new caliper. Less than two weeks later, the handbrake failed again, and I had to call out the AA. When I phoned Seacott they said the repair was under warranty and to bring the car back in. Once I did, they suddenly claimed the caliper was wrong for my car and wanted another £440 — something they either missed or ignored the first time. When I questioned this, I was met with a very rude manager. He was completely unprofessional on the phone and in person. He even admitted they thought the caliper was wrong originally but put it back on anyway — likely just so they could charge me again when it failed. This garage is dishonest and clearly don’t do proper work. I refused to pay another penny and took my car elsewhere. Save yourself the stress — steer well clear of Seacott"
Trader reply: "As a first time Seacott customer, we were very saddened to read how dissatisfied you found our service. We are a long-established business with a large and satisfied, customer base, as our reviews testify towards. Much of your review is based on misunderstanding of what was wrong with your vehicle. You have failed to omit the fact that we have refunded the money for the handbrake cable that failed due to an incorrect caliper previously fitted by a different garage. We offered to fit the correct caliper so the problem would not reoccur. On first inspection the hand brake cable was broken & we did not suspect a problem with the caliper, we are not in the habit of replacing parts that do not need replacing. On second inspection, when the vehicle was returned to us under warranty. We identified the problem by phoning the local Vauxhall dealer who helped us understand that there are 2 different types of brake caliper for this model of vehicle which we did not know until this point. We realised that there had been an incorrect part fitted to your vehicle in the past, causing the ongoing problem with your handbrake cable. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach a point in discussions both on the phone & face to face, where you were not able to understand that this problem was not of our making & that whichever garage repairs this fault, a new brake caliper would be required. We are more than happy to explain this further should you wish to reach out to us in person, our reputation is very important to us.'"
